Police appeal for witnesses to Leyburn accident

The incident occurred near the KIng's Head in Leyburn.

Police have appealed for witnesses to an accident in Leyburn at the weekend.

North Yorkshire Police say they were contacted at 8.55pm on Saturday by the ambulance service to reports of a collision in Grove Square, Leyburn, near the King’s Head pub.

The incident involved a blue Toyota Yaris driven by an 18-year-old woman from East Witton and a 39-year-old male pedestrian from Leyburn.

The man sustained minor injuries to his head and was taken by ambulance to Darlington Hospital.

He was later discharged from hospital.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “Any witnesses with information which would assist the investigation are asked to contact police on 101, select option 1 and speak to the Force Control room.
