He appeared at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday where the failing to surrender charge was withdrawn.

He has been sent for trial to Teesside Crown Court in relation to the drug offences.

However, John James McMenamin, 31, from South Bank near Redcar, who previously lived in Leyburn, remains wanted.

Anyone who has seen Mr McMenamin or knows where he is now is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 01904 618691 and pass information to the Force Control Room.

In January, JJ McMenamin attracted headlines around the world after dressing up as Where’s Wally while on the run from police for motoring offences.

He evetually handed himself in to police after evading them for several days and updating Facebook with pictures and videos of himself dressed as the children’s book character.
