Police received a hoax report of an armed incident in Catterick Garrison yesterday evening.
Several units were sent to an address after reports of someone on a roof armed with knives.
However, police arrived to find the call was a hoax.
Enquiries found that false details had been given to the force control room.
It is understood officers are investigating the hoax.
