Two Richmondshire drivers were caught using their mobiles while driving today.
Police carried out an operation targeting motorists using their phones in the Richmond and Catterick area.
Two were caught in the space of an hour this afternoon.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “The fine for a first offence is six penalty points and a £200 fine.
“Getting caught a second time may lead to a ban from driving.
“Please help us to keep our roads safe by not using your phone whilst driving.
“When you get in your car to drive, put your mobile phone out of reach and don’t be tempted.”
The force said the crackdown would continue in the district.
