Police are giving away a Christmas tree found on the A1.
The tree was in lane two of the motorway near Scotch Corner.
Police say the tree has suffered slight marks on its trunk.
The tree is now being donated to a local school or good cause.
The force’s road policy unit said in a post on social media: “As it was found in Richmondshire area, if any local schools or charitable organisations want to put their names on here we will draw a winning tomorrow night and the winner gets it to either display or stick in a raffle.”
Police say it will be given away unless the owners come forward.
