Police are appealing for information after damage was caused to part of a historic site in Askrigg.
North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened sometime between April 15 and April 24 near the village’s popular Waterfall Walk.
Damage was caused to an outbuilding linked to the heritage of the mill and its electrical system.
Officers are now asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area during that period to come forward.
Anyone with information which could help the investigation is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting reference 12260073243.
