Police are appealing for information after three burglaries were reported in Wensleydale, with tools stolen from sheds and outbuildings.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police believe the incidents took place between 4pm on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday this week.
All three burglaries followed a similar pattern, with offenders targeting sheds and outbuildings to steal tools.
Residents in West Witton and nearby Redmire are being urged to remain vigilant and to check any CCTV, doorbell camera or dash-cam footage that may have captured suspicious activity during the overnight period.
Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything unusual at the time.
Householders are also being asked to check their own sheds, garages and outbuildings to ensure they are secure and to report any missing property. Anyone who discovers items have been stolen is advised to contact police as soon as possible.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said enquiries are ongoing and that information from the public could prove vital in identifying those responsible and preventing further incidents in the area.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call 101, quoting the relevant reference number:
-
West Witton: 12260027769
-
Redmire: 12260027874
Police have also reminded residents to take simple crime-prevention steps, including locking outbuildings, keeping tools out of sight and marking valuable equipment, to help protect rural properties and keep communities safe.
