Police issue appeal after thefts and attempted thefts

Police have issued an appeal for information after a spate of thefts and attempted thefts in rural areas of the district.

On Friday night or early Saturday morning, thieves tried to steal a Land Rover parked at Town Head in Hawes.

A Stihl chainsaw was then taken from a Land Rover in Ravensworth between 6pm and 7pm on Monday.

A white flat bed Ford Transit-type vehicle was seen nearby at the time.

Another incident happened in Simonstone in the early hours of Tuesday.

Four males in a car and pick-up were disturbed while trying to steal farm equipment from a property in the village.
