Police have issued a warning after lines were found drawn on the front door of an elderly couple in the Leyburn area.
Two green parallel lines were drawn on the door with felt-tip pen.
PC Heather Campbell, from Leyburn neighbourhood policing team, said: “This is the only report we have had so please be vigilant and report to us if you find similar markings on a property.
“We are lucky that generally as a community we look out for our elderly persons so please keep an eye out.”
