Police seized two vehicles yesterday after concerns were raised by members of the public in Hawes.
The occupants of two vehicles were reported acting suspiciously in the Hawes area yesterday afternoon.
Police attended and found a Ford Transit van unattended in the town. The vehicle was seized for having no insurance.
The second vehicle, a Mercedes car, was seen to leave the town at speed.
It was found unattended at Ribblehead and seized by police.
Enquiries are being made to try and trace the vehicles’ owners.
A spokesman for Richmondshire police it was good work by locals spotting the out of place occupants and the report likely prevented crime.
