Police are warning residents to beware after suspicious activity in the Dales today.
Police have received reports of a white van going house-to-house in the Swaledale and Arkengarthdale area trying to sell mattresses.
The driver is described as having short grey hair and a moustache.

He was was wearing a dark colour fleece top.
A police spokesperson said: “Please be vigilant and let us know immediately if you see or encounter this vehicle and/or driver.
“We are very grateful to those residents who have already phoned these reports in and urge everyone in the community to always phone in suspicious vehicles/activity where possible by calling 101, noting any vehicle registrations and descriptions.”
