Premier league football makes guest appearance at junior football presentation

A Premier League footballer made a surprise guest appearance at a junior football club’s annual presentation day today.

Jonathan Hogg, who plays for Huddersfield Town, handed out the medals to Leyburn Junior Football Club’s award winners.

Midfielder Jonathan is originally from Middlesbrough and was invited to the event at West Witton playing fields by friends who are members of the club.

The club, which runs teams aged from U5 to U14, held a World Cup-themed parents and kids football tournament.

Around 100 adults and children took part with Portugal the eventual winners.

The club celebrated the success of their teams during the season, which included a Richmondshire and Hambleton Junior Football League cup and league double for the U11s, while the U13s won their division in the Harrogate and District Junior Football League, going unbeaten all season.

The club has also recently launched new teams for U5s and U6s with sessions running throughout the summer.
