Preview of Richmondshire Cricket Club’s weekend

The first team host Great Ayton at Hurgill Road on Saturday – 1pm start – a team they have had some tough battles with over the last few years.

Rob West is doubtful with a back injury and if he fails to recover Shaun Charlton is likely to step back up from the 2nds.

The 2nds will be full of confidence from their big win last weekend when they travel to Great Ayton to play their 2nds  – 1pm start.

This story continues after the adverts:

Owen Kelly’s innings of 162 not out last Saturday earning him a place on the National Batting Honours Board.

On Sunday, the 3rd XI are at home to Barnard Castle  – 2pm start.

Barnard Castle pipped them to 2nd place in the league last season and another challenging encounter is expected this weekend.

The team looks much the same as last weekend, though Julius Glasgow is in for Jordan Moss who is unavailable.

The 4th team travel to Cockerton 1sts  – 2pm start – who are without a win so far this season.

The team may well not be settled till the last minute as regulars Jonny Carr and Darren Bancroft are unavailable.

The 5ths are at home to West Park – 2pm start.

As they romped away with the C Division last year this could be the toughest match so far.

The team should be largely unchanged as star batsmen Mike Irving has scheduled his holiday plans to avoid missing a fixture.
