Prominent Wensleydale pub put on market

A prominent Wensleydale pub has been put up for sale.

The Rose and Crown in Bainbridge is on the market for £555,000.

The pub is being sold following the retirement of landlord David Collinson.

The historic Grade II listed building which dates back to 1445 features three bars, a large restaurant, outdoor area and 11 ensuite bedrooms.

David Cash, regional director at Christie & Co, which is managing the sale, said: “The Rose & Crown is a superb example of an historic coaching inn which has retained many of its original features for hundreds of years.

“Despite being a rural country inn and benefitting hugely from the seasonal tourism trade, the local bar is incredibly popular and a healthy amount of beer is consumed on a weekly basis.”
