The Travellers Rest in Skeeby has donated £270 to Dementia Forward.

The charity supports families living with dementia and runs a day service from Garget Walker House in Richmond.

The money was raised with art sale following the reopening of the community owned pub in May last year.

A number of local artists have displayed work in the pub since the relaunch, with the venue also selling items to buy from local craftspeople, including handmade walking sticks, crocheted creatures, crystal jewellery and honey from a local beekeeper.

The pub doesn’t take any commission from sales of these items.

Instead a small percentage is put into a charity fund with a local charity drawn at the end of the year to benefit.
