Public urged to report nuisance off-road bikers

Police have urged residents to reports problems with anti-social off-road bikers.

Inspector Martin Metcalfe, from the neighbourhood policing team, said he had received a number of complaints about the issue.

He added: “As a direct result of complaints in the more remote areas of off road bikers mainly on Sundays, causing anti-social behaviour and also causing damage, we have a team out right now dedicated to being proactive in relation to this very important issue.

“I would therefore encourage anyone that sees any off road bikers riding in an anti social way today and you believe them to be riding illegally, that you contact us asap on the 101 system, providing as much detail as possible.”

Insp Metcalfe said his officers would “react promptly and deal with them in a positive way”.
