A Wensleydale woman has launched a fundraising campaign to help a puppy born with its legs on back to front.
Krissy Keenan, from West Witton, met Harry while on holiday in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.
Krissy, a pastry chef at the Wensleydale Heifer, said: “My aunty Samantha Thompson has a villa out there and volunteers at a dog rescue centre in Corralejo.
“She sees so many abandoned dogs but this was different as poor Harry and his sister were dumped in a box at the front of the shelter.
“After health checks his sister got rehomed straight away, but because of Harry’s legs my aunty has taken him in so gets the care he needs.”
Krissy said the operation to mend Harry’s legs will cost 2,500 Euros.
“We’ve set up a Just Giving page through the shelter to try and get as much as possible so he can have the operation and live a normal life.”
It is hoped with help from the public and customers at the Wensleydale Heifer to raise £3,000 for Harry to have the operation.
So far more than £800 has already been donated.
