The RAF retained the annual Armed Forces Trophy after a closely fought match against the Army at Richmond Golf Club.
The two services met on the golf course on Wednesday, September 16, for the latest instalment of a competition which has been held annually at Richmond since 2023.
This year’s contest featured 24 players, with teams of 12 representing the Army and RAF.
Both serving personnel and veterans took part, with the match eventually ending in a draw.
With honours even, the RAF retained the trophy as the holders from the previous competition.
Richmond Golf Club Gents’ Captain Ivan Rookes said there had been plenty of friendly rivalry between the two teams.
“What a great day, with everyone playing hard to win,” he said.
“Congratulations to the RAF, who retain the trophy, and thanks to the club staff for putting on a great golfing day, followed by excellent food and drink.”
The annual fixture brings together serving and former members of the two armed forces for a day of competitive golf and socialising at the Richmond course.
