Leyburn Tennis Club has completed renovation works on its three tennis courts at the Wensleydale School thanks to the generous support of a local businessman.

Len Scott, from Bellerby-based Scotts for Storage, funded the project, which included fresh lining and surface repairs, making the courts safer and more attractive for players.

Mr Scott, a long-time supporter of local sport, said: “Local sports clubs are the heartbeat of our communities. They provide opportunities for young people to grow, stay active, and connect with others.

“We’re proud to support Leyburn Tennis Club and hope this encourages others to get involved.”

Club chair Chris Greig said: “We are incredibly thankful to Len and Scotts for Storage for their generous support.

“Their contribution has enabled us to carry out much-needed improvements and continue offering a welcoming space for tennis enthusiasts of all ages.”

The club has thanked Jonathan Sadler who oversaw the project.

The club hopes the refurbished courts will inspire more local children and residents to take up tennis, supported by its coaching programmes.

It is also encouraging other local businesses to support a major capital reinvestment project planned for the courts.
