Repair work has been completed on Middleham Bridge.

Maintenance work to the grade II listed structure was completed ahead of schedule, council officials say.

North Yorkshire County Council bridges team repointed part of the northwest turret where excess movement at the join between the parapet and the turret had caused the mortar to crack.

A council spokesperson said: “Work on the grade II listed Middleham Bridge has been completed ahead of schedule.

“Our bridges team have been repointing part of the northwest turret.

“We have been able to reopen the road early as a result.

“Thank you for your patience.”
