Rescue volunteers called out after walker injures back

A walker was taken to hospital after slipping and falling near Redmire today.

The man suffered a lower back injury in the incident beside the River Ure at Redmire Force.

The casualty was placed was placed on a stretcher by members of Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team.

He was then hauled up a steep slope to the waiting Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

After a short flight, the casualty was transferred to a road ambulance for transport to hospital.
