Householders are being urged to check that anyone who takes their rubbish away is registered as a waste carrier.
The plea comes after a load of rubbish was dumped beside the road between Richmond and Brompton-on-Swale this week.
The waste was spotted by staff from Richmondshire District Council’s waste and street scene team.
They posted a picture of the rubbish online with the message: “Have you used a man with a van recently? Do you know where your waste ended up?
“This lot was dumped between Richmond and Brompton. Make sure the person you use is registered as a waste carrier. Check online and avoid a fine.”!
