A  dance school is celebrating another year of success after retaining its prestigious national accreditation.

The Rhythm and Shoes Dance Academy has been named Dance School of the Year 2025/2026 at the Prestige Awards.

The award recognises excellence across a range of criteria, including quality of instruction, student experience and community engagement.

Director Hazel Richmond said they were “incredibly proud” of the achievement.

She added: “We strive to provide lots of opportunities for our students outside our usual lessons, including performance opportunities, professional workshops with the country’s leading dancers and choreographers, theatre trips, assistance with Duke of Edinburgh and GCSE students,  community visits to provide movement lessons to the elderly and much more.

“Our dance academy is very busy all the time, and we love it. Our students are very excited about our shows that are booked at the Georgian Theatre in June and are working hard on their routines.”

The academy caters for a wide age range, with classes available for children from the age of three through to adults.

A small number of places are currently available in selected classes, and new students are warmly welcomed.
