Richmond butchers provide Christmas hampers to those in need

A Richmond butchers has worked with its suppliers to put together hampers for those in need this Christmas.

Angus Morton Butchers, in Finkle Street, has teamed up with the town’s three primary schools — Richmond Methodist School, St Mary’s RC School and Trinity School to offer the hampers to families most in need.

Owner Mick Kirk said: “Christmas is not far away, it’s a time that we can all meet family, friends and loved ones.

“But we should also spare a thought for the families that maybe can’t splash out as much as they’d like to at Christmas.

“So this Christmas we have teamed up with the 3 primary schools in Richmond and offered our help to those that need it most.”
The schools have chosen 40 families who would benefit most.
Each family will receive a festive hamper to help them enjoy their Christmas.
The butchers’ suppliers Soanes Poultry, Rookes Bacon, Taste Tradition and Wensleydale Eggs have helped with the hampers.
Mick added: “Our customers too have helped and many have made donations to help us make this possible
“We would like to thank everyone who has donated, your generosity never ceases to amaze me.”

Each hamper will contain: a 5lb chicken, 2lb pork joint, 1lb streaky bacon, 1lb pack of chipolata sausage and 6 free range.
