A Richmond car dealership is celebrating after being named a finalist in two of the motor trade’s most prestigious national awards, just 12 months after opening its doors.

Browns of Richmond, based on the Gallowfields Trading Estate, has quickly established itself as a trusted name, specialising in MOTs, servicing, repairs, and used vehicle sales – with a growing reputation for electric vehicles.

Since it opened its doors in August 2024, the business has grown rapidly, thanks to a focus on value and customer care, and now employs more than 20 people at its Racecourse Road site.

This autumn, that success is being recognised on the national stage:

  • It has been named as a finalist at the AutoTrader Retailer Excellence Awards, placing it among the top one per cent of more than 14,000 UK dealers for customer service and value for money.
  • In November, the company will head to London’s Grosvenor House for the Motor Trader Industry Awards, where it has been shortlisted in two categories: Fastest Growing New Dealership and Electric Vehicle Dealer Excellence.

Director Tim Roelich said: “Nothing is more important than ensuring our customers feel special, from the welcome they receive when they come through the doors, the interaction with our team, and the quality and value of our vehicles. We aim for excellence at every level.

“We’re delighted to be finalists at two major national awards after just over a year in business. It’s a real testament to the wonderful team here and the outstanding service they provide.”

As part of its expansion, Browns recently acquired Richmond Motor Services (RMS), a well-established garage on Gallowfields Trading Estate, following the retirement of  long-serving owner Andrew Townson.
