Richmond charity restarts gardening services

Just the Job has restarted a limited gardening service in and around Richmond providing help to their most vulnerable and elderly customers.

The charity works with adult with disabilities to achieve their potential by doing work in the community.

General manager Steve Biggs said they would be adhering to the Government recommendations for working and were taking all the precautions necessary to keep themselves and their customers safe.

“We have been concentrating on remotely supporting our work team members and their families through social media, meeting rooms and good old telephone calls, but also recognised that for those of our customers who can’t get any help with their garden it is important when at home for so much time that they can at least look out onto a tidy lawn.

“Without the the hard work of our wonderful team members being available we can only manage a few gardens every week, so we are contacting our regular customers who we think most need our help.”

He added: “If you see one of their vans out and about and give them a wave.”

Just the Job has been granted planning permission for new premises near its existing base on the Gallowfields Trading Estate.
