Volunteers who run Richmond’s annual Christmas market have warned that the 2023 event could be cancelled unless people step forward to lead the organising committee.
The event is held in December and has in the past included live entertainment and ice skating as well as festive stalls in the market place.
However, organisers have warned they need people to step up to help run the day.
The committee said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we have to announce that there may not be a Christmas market this year.
“The current committee is really struggling to find anyone who is prepared to take over as the chair and vice chair.
“Therefore with no-one in these positions, it is looking increasingly likely that the market will not go ahead.
“If anyone wants to volunteer for either of these positions and take over organising the market, then please let us know asap.”
