Richmond church issues hot water bottles and warm clothing

A Richmond church is issuing hot water bottles, warm clothing and blankets to people affected by rising energy prices.

The Influence Church is running a warm winter scheme to help those in need.

Ten people signed up to the service in its first three days of opening.

A spokesperson said: “With rising fuel and energy prices affecting many families and people in our communities, our Warm Winter Scheme is designed to meet this need by providing basic warm wear essentials for those struggling to heat their homes effectively.

“We can provide a box of essential items to help keep people warm this winter including blankets, hand warmers, hot water bottles, thermal flasks, hats, gloves, scarves, socks and coats.”

The church, which also runs the Store House foodbank, is collecting donations of money and clothes to help with the scheme.

  1. Great to hear that the Influence Church are again rallying round to help people. This is what Christianity is all about, whereas, St Mary’s, Church of England offers nothing!
