A 22-year-old Richmond man has been banned from driving for three years after admitting driving with cannabis above the specified legal limit.
Nathan Carvey, of Whitefields Drive, Richmond, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on Monday in relation to an offence committed on the B6271 on February 8.
The court record states Carvey was driving a vehicle when the proportion of cannabis detected in his blood exceeded the specified limit.
Carvey, who was born on February 13, 2004, pleaded guilty to the offence on September 28.
Magistrates imposed an obligatory driving disqualification of 36 months and fined him £400, with his guilty plea taken into account.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £160 surcharge.
A collection order was made, with Carvey ordered to pay the financial penalties in monthly instalments of £60, beginning on October 26.
