Roots and Shoots is now based on the town’s Gallowfields Industrial Estate.

This story continues after the adverts:

In April the company was taken over by Will Gardner.

Will got into floristry after watching a demonstration while studying horticulture at Houghall College Durham.

After college, he worked at Ravensworth Nurseries before taking on the Richmond business.

Will said he was proud to have taken on a successful business which had been in operation since the 1980s, and was aiming to carry on and build on the good work of its former owners.

The business has also expanded its services and now offers wedding and event floristry.

It has also applied for an alcohol licence so it can provide bottles of fizz with its bouquets.

Will can also offer balloon artistry.
