The Freemasons lodge in Richmond.

The Freemasons lodge in Richmond will hold an open day this Saturday to allow the public to learn more about the organisation.

The lodge on Newbiggin next to the Comrades Club will open to the public from 10am to 3pm.

Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Harry Elliott said there were a lot of myths and rumours about Freemasonry and the open day was a chance to dispel those myths, ask questions and see inside the lodge.

This story continues after the adverts:

He added: “As Freemasons we promote charity with a lot of monies raised going to local charities and worthwhile causes of all types.

“Only recently the Province of Yorkshire North and East Ridings of which Lennox Lodge is a part of, has recently raised over £1.8 million pounds which is to be distributed to these worthwhile causes.

“I am looking forward to meeting people and showing them around Lennox Lodge.”

Lennox Lodge 123 is one of the oldest Freemasons Lodges in England and was established in 1753.
