Richmond Golf Club is working with England Golf as part of the relaunch of the Women in Golf Charter aimed at creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for women and girls.

The club was among the first in England to sign up to the charter in 2021 and has since seen significant growth in female participation and representation.

Barbara Gregory, Richmond’s Women in Golf Champion, recently met with Neil Burke to discuss the next phase of the initiative and how the club could continue to support its development.

During the meeting, Neil praised the progress made by the club since joining the charter, including an increase in women’s membership to more than 70 members and greater female representation at board level.

Barbara and Neil are now working together on a renewed charter which will place a particular focus on attracting women aged between 18 and 50 into the sport.

The Women in Golf Charter was introduced by England Golf to encourage clubs and organisations to take positive steps towards improving accessibility, participation and opportunities for women and girls within golf.
