Richmond Golf Club’s gentlemen’s captain, Ivan Rookes, hosted a successful captain’s away day at Castle Eden Golf Club, with 56 members taking part.
The event, held on Friday, July 24, was blessed with fine weather, an excellent course and warm hospitality from the host club.
Mr Rookes thanked both Castle Eden Golf Club and his fellow members for making the day a success.
“What a great day we all had and I’d like to thank Castle Eden Golf Club for making it a day to remember, and to all the lads from Richmond Golf Club who came along to support me,” he said.
Albert Nowicki claimed first place with an impressive 40 points, while Jonny Walker finished second on countback after carding 39 points, edging out Steve Willis, who also scored 39 points.
John Simpson won the nearest-the-pin competition on the 17th hole, while Gary Catt took the longest drive prize on the 15th.
The award for “most golf played” went to Karl Kinchin, who finished with 17 points.
