Richmond Golf Club marked the start of the 2026 golfing year on Sunday, December 14, as its new captains took part in the club’s traditional Captain’s Drive-In.
Members gathered at the first tee to watch the four incoming captains each strike their opening drive of the year, a long-standing ceremony that officially signals the beginning of the new season.
All four captains were met with warm applause from the assembled membership and impressed onlookers with strong opening shots.
Following the drive-in, members enjoyed a shotgun-start competition, with golfers heading out across the course to compete in a friendly but competitive day of play.
The prize winners were announced at the conclusion of the round.
