A cheque for £1,605 has been presented to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People by Richmond Golf Club.
The money was raised by the 2016 captains Gordon Dryden and Susan Town at various events held at the club over the year.
It was collected by Trish and her hearing dog Nico at the club.
Trish is profoundly deaf and Nico has been her constant companion for five years.
“He was well admired at the club,” said Susan.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a UK charity which trains dogs to alert deaf people – both adults and children – to a variety of sounds at home and in public.
Each hearing dog also helps to bring a visibility to their recipient’s deafness thanks to the burgundy jackets they wear when out in public.
