Richmond Golf Club members took the top two places in the ladies’ competition at this year’s Dales Festival of Golf.
The annual three-day event was staged at Richmond, Bedale and Catterick golf clubs from August 17 to 19.
The competition is played in pairs, with the overall Stableford scores from all three days used to decide the winners.
Players faced 54 holes of golf during the festival, with men’s, ladies’ and mixed teams taking part from across the region and further afield.
Richmond’s Vicky Johnson and Eileen Catt emerged as the overall ladies’ winners after recording a combined score of 116 points across the three days.
The runners-up also came from Richmond Golf Club.
Mary-Anne Hyde and Sue Kiplin finished just three points behind the winners with a score of 113 points, completing a one-two finish for the club.
Claire Bateman, this year’s lady captain at Richmond Golf Club, said members were delighted with the results.
She added: “We are so delighted that the overall first and second place for ladies in the Dales Festival of Golf came from our great club, and we’re very proud.”
The Dales Festival of Golf is held annually across the three local clubs, with competitors playing a round at Richmond, Bedale and Catterick over consecutive days.
