A Richmond guitar teacher on a mission to bring back rock and roll to the mainstream is celebrating his own chart success with his debut single.
James Hargreaves’ Good To Be Back EP has entered the physical singles chart at number seven — with stars including Coldplay, David Bowie and Liam Gallagher also featuring in the top ten.
James has been teaching guitar since 1998. He also runs a YouTube channel — James Hargreaves Guitar — which has more than 8,000 subscribers.
As part of an online effort to try and bring back rock and roll music to the mainstream charts, the musician said he decided to launch the #takebackthecharts movement.
He started by releasing his first CD single of original music to demonstrate how success can be achieved.
The four songs on the CD were mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London by Frank Arkwright, who has also mastered for stars including Oasis, Blur and Elton John.
Ladies and gentlemen! The Good To Be Back EP has entered the physical sales chart at number seven!
That’s ahead of Liam Gallagher!!!
Massive love and thanks to everyone who bought a copy and started this insane ball rolling.
