Richmond Golf Club’s ladies team claimed the annual Triple Trophy after coming out on top in this year’s competition against Catterick and Bedale.
The event, held at Richmond on Friday (August 7), saw each club field a team of eight players in an individual medal competition, with the best seven nett scores counting towards the team total.
The Triple Trophy was first presented by Fred Thorpe in 1973 and has become a regular fixture between the three clubs.
Richmond finished with a winning total of 514, ahead of Catterick on 531 and Bedale on 554.
Richmond team captain Lesley Calvert thanked everyone who took part in what she described as difficult playing conditions.
She said: “Thanks to all those who played on a hot day with testing course conditions. We all had a great day and look forward to next year’s match at Catterick.”
