A Richmond man is to be sentenced for a string of child sex offences after he admitted eight separate charges.
David Macey, 62, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court yesterday when he pleaded guilty to a series of offences including attempted sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a child to watch an image of sexual activity.
Macey, of Frances Road, admitted five counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child under 16 years of age.
Those offences occurred over a two-year period between July 2018 and the summer of 2020.
He also admitted three counts of attempting to cause a child under 16 to look at an image of sexual activity.
Those offences occurred between July 2018 and April 2020.
Macey denied a further allegation that he made or downloaded four Category B indecent images of children. The prosecution ultimately accepted his plea and withdrew the allegation.
Macey will be sentenced for the eight other offences at York Crown Court on July 4.
He was released on bail until then on condition that he doesn’t have any advertent contact with children under 18 years of age.
