A Richmond man has been ordered to do 140 hours of unpaid work for assaulting a woman.
Shane Dale, 38, of Bridge Terrace, Richmond, appeared at York Magistrates Court yesterday after admitting assaulting the woman at an earlier hearing.
He also admitted damaging a car belonging to the victim.
Both incidents occurred in Richmond on January 31, this year.
He was given a community order requiring him to attend a Building Better Relationships programme.
Dale was also ordered to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work and pay £600 in compensation.
The magistrates said they had taken the defendant’s guilty plea into account when imposing sentence.
