A masonic lodge in Richmond is planning an open day to allow the public to learn more about freemasonry
The Lennox Lodge 123, in Newbiggin, next to the New Comrades, will open to the public from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, June 11.
The Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Jason Hammond said the open day was a chance for members of the public to raise any questions they may have and to see inside the lodge.
He added: “What people don’t realise is that the Freemasons are often one of the first to donate monies to global catastrophes, along with our own local charities and worthwhile causes of all types.
“By the end of April 2022, the Masonic Charitable Foundation had donated almost £1M pounds to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal, with monies still coming in’.
“I am really looking forward to meeting people, showing them around Lennox Lodge and answering any questions they may have over a cup of tea and a biscuit.”
Lennox Lodge 123 is one of the oldest Freemasons Lodges in England and was established in 1763.
