A Richmond motorist has been banned from the roads for 23 months after being prosecuted for drink driving.
Matthew Dinsdale, 24, of Frenchgate, Richmond, was stopped while driving a silver BMW in Catterick Garrison in the early hours of April 12 last year.
Police tests found the motorist to have 92 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35.
Dinsdale was sentenced for drink driving and driving without insurance at York Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
As well as the ban, the defendant was ordered to carryout a ten-day community order and pay costs and a victim surcharge of £715.
