Richmond mum pursues dream of running craft business

A Richmond mum of three is to display her felted wool pictures at a prestigious Dales exhibition.

Catherine Jackson’s hobby and passion for all things textile and embroidery has led her to pursue her dream of running her own business.

This week marks an important milestone on her entrepreneurial journey as her art work features alongside established artists from the region.

The Dales Inspiration Exhibition is running at Masham Town Hall all this week.

It is open daily 10am to 4pm until Sunday, July 23.

Catherine said: “Being selected to exhibit in the exhibition is a wonderful boost for me.

Catherine with her 3 children exploring the Dales landscapes that inspire much of her work.

“I am self-trained and love to explore different ways of working, combining techniques like felting and embroidery to create my one-off pieces.

“To be recognised as an artist in an exhibition like this is a real achievement’ Said textile artist and mother Catherine Jackson.”

The exhibition in Masham features work inspired by the Yorkshire Dales including painting, papercutting, glass, textile and photography.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Swinton Estate.
