Richmond museum renews appeal to fix leaky roof

A museum has renewed an appeal to raise money for repairs to its leaky roof.

Richmondshire Museum says it now has two holes in the roof after launching an appeal to raise fund earlier this year when the first leak was discovered.

The museum has launched an appeal to raise £8,000 to pay for the repairs.

An online Crowdfunding appeal has been created.

It states: “Water is pouring in through our front entrance area.

“The place in which our volunteers sit to welcome our visitors and the place in which we have our shop. The old nature of the building means that we have many old aspects such as a flat lead roof that now has seen better days.

“We have had no income last year and we are facing a reduced season this year as well, which means that funds are stretched to the limit.

“We would be so very grateful of anything you can spare so we can continue to keep local heritage alive and share it with generations to come.”
