Richmond Operatic Society (ROS) is celebrating multiple nominations in the annual NODA North Awards.
ROS received three nominations for best individual performance.
They were:
- Amy Fudali for her performance as Nettie in Carousel
- Jay Dutton for his performance as Pugsley in the Addams Family
- Jordan Hamilton-Leighton for his performance as Uncle Fester in the Addams Family
Carousel, directed by Suanne Harding, musical directed by Adrian Bramley, was also nominated for best show performance.
Suanne Harding, ROS chair, said: “After having to close down completely during the pandemic, I am over the moon that our society has been nominated for so many awards.
“As a society we kept in touch via Zoom and social media to keep connected and provide support, but we all missed doing what we love most.
“Whilst the audience get to see the amazing performances, it takes a lot of hard work over many months to get to that point both on and off stage.
“As the chair, I am so proud of everyone involved in both shows who deserve to be recognised for their hard work.
“As director of Carousel, I am of course so humbled the show has been nominated. No matter what happens, we are already a society who is full of radiance and excited to continue doing what we love.”
ROS has scheduled rehearsals and auditions for its next show Calendar Girls.
The first meet up is Tuesday, August 2.
Auditions will take place on August 14. More information can be found on their Facebook page.
