Richmond Operatic Society relaunches musical theatre group

An appeal has gone out for new members for a relaunched musical theatre group.

Richmond Operatic Society’s concert group party (Rosco) will hold its first meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 19, at 7.30pm at the Operatic Hall, Bargate, Richmond.

It will then meet every Wednesday.

The group is a chance for members to learn a selection of musical theatre songs without the pressure of acting and performing on stage.

The group aims to put together a large repertoire of songs to be used for fundraisers, charity events and other social gatherings and is ideal for anyone aged 16 and above who wishes to sing their hearts out without the pressures of acting on stage.

John Halliday, from the operatic society, said: “The group operated many years ago and did great fundraisers for charities such as SCBU in Northallerton Friarage.

“”e have decided to start it up again due to having a large membership and also a lot of members who no longer wish to perform in large stage productions.”

All abilities are welcome to go along and join in.
