A new osteopathic and massage practice has opened in Richmond in a converted garage.

Richmond Osteopathy & Massage has been launched by Joanne Payne in a self-contained clinic room in Ronaldshay Drive.

Joanne brings experience from practices across the UK, as well as setting up as the first osteopath in the Falkland Islands.

“I’m incredibly proud of the work that I do to help people improve their health and wellbeing- through my treatment sessions, but also giving them advice to help them stay fit and active.

“I’m also excited to welcome people into the brand new clinic room and start helping people after a difficult year for all of us.”

Osteopathy is a hands-on treatment which includes massage, stretching and manipulation to find and treat the root cause of pain or discomfort.

As well as being a trained and insured osteopath, the practice will also provide deep tissue massage tailored to the individual.

“Everyone has their own needs and it’s important to me that I help people understand their conditions.

“This involves really getting to know each of my patients and providing a caring and open environment- many patients joke that talking to me during their visits feels like therapy!”

“Some of the treatments can be quite physical, including deep muscle work, and I also like to prescribe specific exercises such as Pilates and stretches that will help people to heal themselves and stay well after their visits.

“Whether it is back or neck pain, sports or work-related injury, I try to reduce tension and improve mobility thus reducing pain”
