Richmond outdoor market on the up, says stallholder

Richmond’s twice-weekly outdoor market is on the up, says a new stallholder.

Middlemoor Cottage Garden Plans has taken a stall at the market after closing its shop near Brokes.

Owner Sharon Stead said the number of stalls on the market had increased three-fold this summer.

“It’s great to see it so busy again

“Along with the regular stalls that have always been there, you will now find a huge variety of stalls selling everything from plants to jewellery, crafts and many more.”

Sharon added: “We have been there on two Saturdays recently and we are there again this Saturday.

“We have been amazed at how busy it’s been. We had a plant nursery that closed recently so it’s perfect for us to still be able to sell our plants locally.

“Our family had a stall on Richmond market for many years so we are in fact the third generation of our family to do it and we are really enjoying it.”

The outdoor market takes place on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

“The market manager, town council and a few other people have made a big effort to get the market back to how busy it used to be and it’s a credit to them,” Sharon added.
