Richmond police urge public to report drug issues after white powder found

The wrap was found in Richmond.

Police in Richmond have urged the public to report drugs issues in the town after a wrap of white powder was found.

The suspected drugs were found by officers on patrol in the town.

In a tongue in cheek post on social media police urged the owner of the wrap to come forward, adding: “We would be keen to return this to it’s rightful owner.

“If you believe this belongs to you please come to Richmond police station so that we can ask you some questions about what the white powder is and how you came by it.

“We of course need to ask these questions to prove the ‘powder’ belongs to you.”

A force spokesperson then added: “In all seriousness finding suspected drugs in a clearly open space is of a massive concern to us.

“This item could have been picked up by a child with horrendous consequences.

“We are keen to act upon any intelligence you can provide to us in relation to drug issues in Richmond.

“You can report this to us on 101 or through the Crimestoppers website.”
