Richmond primary school to offer provision for two-year-olds

A Richmond primary school will offer provision for two-year-olds from January 2020.

Trinity Academy Richmond applied to extend the age range of pupils it accepts following a consultation process with parents and the local community,

The school already offers a teacher-led nursery for three-year-olds and this early years provision will be now extended with a two-year-old room.

This will allow children to start at two, feeding into the nursery and then into the main school should parents so wish.

Executive headteacher Kate Williamson said: “We received a lot of support from existing and new parents to open the two-year-old provision, telling us that there was a need in the community.

“We are very lucky to have the space in the main school building to have an area dedicated to providing the two-year-old provision, which will include an enclosed outdoor area.”

The school is holding an early years open evening on Wednesday, November from 6pm to 7pm, and an open afternoon on Saturday, November 9, from 2pm to 4pm for any parents interested in places for two or three-year-olds, as well as school places for September 2020.
